AEDM2010 DAY02 : The Sketchbook Project in progress

I'm combining AEDM2010 with Sketchbook Project 2011 which I'm way behind :-(. The first sketch is my favorite subject, whimsical umbrellas. I did this in August. The second one I just drew this morning :-) Color pencils on grey sticker paper. Although I had fun painting this spread, I don't really like the result. Too many colors and each one doesn't go well together. It frustrated me that I always wanted to undo it digitally but couldn't ;-P

Love the white and yellow paint on grey though.

    I LOVE the umbrellas!!! I also liked the color page...I thought the colors worked well together, although I do get that maybe that's not what you were seeing in your mind's eye...

    Ack! These are the cutest umbrellas EVER. I really like the glasses as well and I disagree - I think the colors look good together! I also love the little polka-dots you've added to the background. <3

    I love the effect of the umbrellas on the lined paper. I like all of the color in the second one, and I think the pages do go together because you have repeating colors and shapes.
